  • Wedding Fun!

Adelle's Aunt Alyssa got married this weekend. Adelle and Evie got to be the flower girls. It was a great time, though very busy!

Grandma and Grandpa took the girls to the zoo on Thursday morning where they got to feed a giraffe (Aunt Alyssa works at the zoo, so there are quite a few perks with that!). They got to go out to Chick-Fil-A for lunch, too. Big fun!

Adelle tried to do her own hair for the wedding, but in the end, she decided that curls might look better.

Here come the flower girls! Adelle did a great job and even remembered to drop the petals about three-quarters of the way down the aisle.

The wedding's all done. Now it's time to play!

Adelle LOVED the silly veil I made for Aunt Aylssa's bachelorette party.

  • Preschool

Adelle started preschool this morning. She could not have been more excited! I am honestly amazed that she slept at all last night.

We dropped Jamie off at work on our way and when we got there, I did manage to get her to stand still (sort of) for about half a second so I could take her picture.

    After that, she was off!

    She checked out her cubby...

and left her monkey backpack to hang out.

I signed her in and she waited patiently for the classroom to open (she was first in line, jumping up and down). I managed to sneak in a hug and kiss before the doors opened and off she bounded without a backward glance. Evie immediately started waving 'bye bye' to Adelle, which she continued to do the whole way back to the van. I knew I would cry, but I tried to hold it together until I got back to the van. No luck, the tears started before I could even clear the building. I'm so proud of her. She's such a big girl and is so wonderful to be around. I really missed her this morning.

When we went to pick her up, Evie spent the wait time with her little face pressed up to the window of the door excited because she could see Adelle. We both couldn't wait for class to be over.

Adelle probably would have been happy in class all day, though. She said she had a great time! She made new friends (can't remember anyone's names, though), played with playdough as well as dominoes, played outside on the playground, and got to paint today. She can't wait to go back again tomorrow!

  • Charlie and Lola

Adelle loves Charlie and Lola. This makes me happy because I love Charlie and Lola, too. It is one of the few cartoons that I not only don't mind watching with the girls, but I actually try to encourage them to watch. Something about the English accents and the fun, artsy animation. My secret hope is that maybe one of the girls will watch enough of it and pick up and English accent (so cute!). Apparently, my plan is working out splendidly.

Adelle loves this particular episode where Lola doesn't want to eat veggies. She likes the game on Disney's website, too. The other day, she came to me and this video is what I got.

BRILLIANT! My child can do a wicked English accent and as an added bonus she thinks it's cute/fun/hilarious.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love this kid? She's awesome. (Evie is, too... don't get all upset. But this is Adelle's blog and this is where I talk about how amazing Adelle is).

  • Tea Party!

The cooler weather today was such a welcome change that we just had to find a reason to spend more time outside. So after our walk, we had a tea party on our back deck. Adelle dressed up and also invited Princess Kitty to join us.

We put sweet tea in the teapot and let Adelle pour the tea for everyone (mostly for herself).

Evie didn't quite get the concept and mostly just flitted around the deck pausing for drinks of tea and bites of lunch as she felt like it.

  • Fun with floor pillows!

It doesn't take much for us to have fun around here. Throw a pile of floor pillows in the middle of the livingroom and you have yourself an afternoon (or two) of fun!
